Our journey

Why We Do Research

AI is changing how people think, decide, and relate at work — but most research focuses on technology, not humans.
At Humans in the Loop, we study what happens when people start working alongside AI: how it affects trust, identity, and wellbeing.

Our goal is to make AI adoption emotionally intelligent — guided by evidence, not hype.

Our approach

We work in partnership with educators, psychologists, and organisations to explore the human experience of AI adoption.
Our research is applied, participatory, and grounded in real workplaces — not labs. We look for patterns in how people adapt, where stress shows up, and what helps trust grow.

We focus on:

  • The emotional and behavioural impact of AI on teams

  • What builds or erodes trust in hybrid (human + AI) systems

  • Leadership and psychological safety during technology change

  • The cultural conditions that support ethical AI adoption

For Potential Partners

We collaborate with:

  • Universities exploring the intersection of AI, psychology, and education

  • Public agencies seeking to understand AI’s impact on communities

  • Health and education providers adopting AI tools in sensitive environments

  • Private organisations committed to ethical, human-centred innovation

If your team is experimenting with AI and wants to understand its human impact, we’d love to learn with you.
